Five Things to Know: The Bruzzy


MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women’s golf is headed back down south to Ardmore, Oklahoma to compete in The Bruzzy, hosted by North Texas. The 54-hole tournament will take place from Saturday, April 1 to Sunday, April 2 at the Dornick Hills Golf and Country Club. 

Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:

1. Last Time Out: The Badgers last competed at the MountainView Collegiate on March 17-19 where they finished 8-over to tie for 15th. The team carded an 872 (290-290-292) throughout 54 holes at MountainView Golf Club. Chloe Chan finished 2-under to tie for 26th place as the Badgers highest finisher, shooting 69-73-72=214. She collected nine birdies overall during the tournament including five during the first round of play, while teammate Emily Lauterbach finished one-over to tie for 47th after carding a 72-70-75=217. 

2. The Course: The Bruzzy will take place at the Dornick Hills Golf and Country Club in Ardmore, Oklahoma, which is the home course of the tournament’s namesake. The par-70 5,976-yard course began as a dairy farm and later became the first Oklahoma Golf Club to be affiliated with the United States Golf Association back in 1914. Dornick Hills is known for its unique natural rock formations, including a cliff at the sixteenth hole known as “The Cliff Hole.”

3. The Tournament: The Bruzzy will be played on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2, with 36 holes being played on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. Both days are set to begin at 8:30 a.m. CT with a shotgun start. 

4. The Field: Teams competing in the tournament are Charlotte, No. 34 Houston, Kansas State, Miami, Missouri, No. 49 Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State (individuals only), Purdue, No. 36 TCU, No. 32 Texas Tech, No. 40 Tulsa, No. 20 UCF, Western Kentucky and Wisconsin. In the lineup for the Badgers are Emily Lauterbach, Vanessa Ho, Chloe Chan, Gia Feliciano and Carly Carter.
