Women’s Golf Set for 2023 SEC Championship


BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Ole Miss women’s golf team will open up postseason play this week at the 2023 SEC Championship, with the tournament set to run April 12-16 at Greystone Golf and Country Club.

The tournament will feature all 14 SEC teams competing in three rounds of stroke play to determine the SEC individual champion and tournament seeding. The top eight teams from stroke play will then move forward into the match play bracket, which will be played out Saturday and Sunday until a team champion is crowned.  

Wednesday, April 12 – 18 holes of stroke play

Thursday, April 13 – 18 holes of stroke play

Friday, April 14 – 18 holes of stroke play

Saturday, April 15 – Match Play Quarterfinals

Saturday, April 15 – Match Play Semifinals

Sunday, April 16 – Match Play Championship  

Saturday’s semifinals will be available live digitally on SEC+ with an official start time yet to be determined. The championship match on Sunday, April 16 will then be televised live on SEC Network beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT.  

Andrea Lignell (Sr.*)

—  Leads the team with a stroke average of 71.36 in 2022-23

— Captured her first two career medalist finishes for the Rebels in the fall at the Cougar Classic and The Ally

— Shot a 204 (-9) at the Cougar Classic, marking a new career-low 54-hole score and tying her for the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history

— Has finished in the top 3 individually in six of her nine tournament appearances

— Named to ANNIKA Award First Spring Watch List

— Earned a third place finish at the prestigious Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the highest finish for a Rebel in the tournament’s history



Chiara Tamburlini (Sr.*)


— Carries a 72.45 season stroke average in 2022-23

— Earned Co-SEC Golfer of the Week honors after a third place finish at the Valspar Augusta Invitational

— Competed at the 2023 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, where she finished tied for 44th

— Has finished in the Top 20 in 19 of her past 20 tournament appearances for the Rebels

— 2021-22 WGCA First-Team All-American

— 2022 Edith Cummings Munson Golf Award winner

— Named to ANNIKA Award Preseason and Final Fall Watch Lists



Elle Johnson (Sr.*)


— Currently shooting a season stroke average of 74.95 in 2022-23
