Men's Golf Announces 2023-24 Schedule


DURHAM – The Duke men’s golf team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season, including a season-opening marquee event in Washington, its annual home event, the Rod Myers Invitational and two additional local tournaments at Pinehurst No. 2 and Lonnie Poole Golf Club.

The Blue Devils begin their season in Sammamish, Wash., at the Sahalee Players Championship. The former annual amateur tournament is being held as a collegiate event for the first time and features a 12-team field that includes seven teams that advanced to the 2023 NCAA Championship. The tournament is played Sept. 9 and 10 at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash., and the individual medalist will earn a sponsor exemption into a PGA TOUR event, the Fortinet Championship.

Duke then travels to Chicago for the Highlands Invitational, hosted by Wake Forest, on Sept. 18 and 19, at the Chicago Highlands Club before returning to Durham to host the Rod Myers Invitational.

The Blue Devils’ home event is set for Sunday, Sept. 24 and Monday, Sept. 25 at the Duke University Golf Club. The annual tournament, entering its 13th iteration, is named in the honor of former Duke men’s golf head coach Rod Myers, who passed away in 2007 following a battle with an acute form of leukemia.

The fall schedule wraps up with the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Alpharetta, Ga., on Oct. 13-15 and a trip to Carmel, Calif., on Oct. 30 and 31 for the Cal Poly Invitational. The Blue Devils are also scheduled to have four individuals compete in the Bryan National Collegiate in Greensboro, N.C., on Oct. 29-31.

Duke returns to action for its spring portion of the season with a trip to La Quinta, Calif., playing in The Prestige, held on the Greg Norman Course at PGA West from Feb. 19-21. The Wake Forest Invitational is up next for the Blue Devils, played at Pinehurst No. 2 on March 4 and 5.

The month of March closes out with two events in Florida. The Hayt tournament, held in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., from March 9-11 and the Valspar Collegiate Invitational in Palm City, Fla., on March 25 and 26.

The Blue Devils return to their home state for the final regular season tournament, the Stitch Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Club in Raleigh, N.C., on April 12 and 13, before beginning postseason play in Charlotte, N.C. The ACC Championship is scheduled to be played at…
