Wisconsin leads after first day of Badger Invitational


MADISON, Wis. — After day one of the Badger Invitational, Wisconsin women’s golf is tied for first at four-over par. 

True freshman Kate Brody leads Wisconsin headed into the second round after carding a two-under par in just her second collegiate tournament. Brody is in second place at the end of the first day. 

Sunday, September 17

Round 1

The Badgers started their home invitational off strong with a 292 (+4) to tie for first place.

Brody led Wisconsin in the first round, carding a two-under 70 with five birdies. The freshman’s five birdies tied for first among all golfers. Carly Carter and Vanessa Ho both made par with four birdies each. Ho tallied back-to-back birdies on Holes 5 and 6, and 11 and 12. 

Alexia Siehl shot a six-over 78, while Chloe Chan rounded out the team lineup with an eight-over 80. 

Camille Kuznik led the Badger individuals with a three-over 75 and Yongze Cheng tallied a five-over 77. Ava Salay carded a six-over 78 in her first collegiate round, while Gia Feliciano shot an eight-over 80.
