Moving Day at The Prestige

Moving Day at The Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. – Stanford notched the tournament’s second-best team score of the round at 10-under on Tuesday afternoon, as Karl Vilips and Dean Greyserman sit firmly in the mix for their respective event titles ahead of tomorrow morning’s final round. The Cardinal currently sit 7th in the team standings after two rounds.

In the team event, the Cardinal shaved 13 strokes off their round one performance, headlined by a 5-under 66 round from Karl Vilips as the senior positions himself inside the top-10 on the individual leaderboard with a three-shot deficit. Vilips fired off an eagle, four birdies and a lone bogey in the effort, giving him his seventh consecutive round under par.

Michael Thorbjornsen also moved into the top-25 in Tuesday’s action, shooting a 2-under 69 with an eagle, three birdies, a bogey, and a double bogey, while Jake Beber-Frankel was Stanford’s most improved golfer on the day with a 3-under round to improve upon Monday’s performance by five strokes.

Barclay Brown started the round hot with an eagle and three birdies in the first 10 holes, but a triple bogey and two bogeys down the stretch left the senior with an even par-71 scorecard after 18 holes.

Moving over to the individual event on the Terra Lago course, Dean Greyserman walked to the clubhouse one stroke off the lead with a share of second place after two rounds, as he posted a four-under round on the day with six birdies and two bogeys.

Anton Ouyang shaved six strokes off yesterday’s round with an even-par round in Tuesday’s action, while Sean-Karl Dobson and Ethan Gao both finished the day 2-over par.

Action resumes at The Prestige tomorrow morning as tee times begin at 6:45 a.m. in the team event and 7:30 a.m. for the individual competition.
