In the team event, the Cardinal shaved 13 strokes off their round one performance, headlined by a 5-under 66 round from Karl Vilips as the senior positions himself inside the top-10 on the individual leaderboard with a three-shot deficit. Vilips fired off an eagle, four birdies and a lone bogey in the effort, giving him his seventh consecutive round under par.
Michael Thorbjornsen also moved into the top-25 in Tuesday’s action, shooting a 2-under 69 with an eagle, three birdies, a bogey, and a double bogey, while Jake Beber-Frankel was Stanford’s most improved golfer on the day with a 3-under round to improve upon Monday’s performance by five strokes.
Barclay Brown started the round hot with an eagle and three birdies in the first 10 holes, but a triple bogey and two bogeys down the stretch left the senior with an even par-71 scorecard after 18 holes.
Moving over to the individual event on the Terra Lago course, Dean Greyserman walked to the clubhouse one stroke off the lead with a share of second place after two rounds, as he posted a four-under round on the day with six birdies and two bogeys.
Anton Ouyang shaved six strokes off yesterday’s round with an even-par round in Tuesday’s action, while Sean-Karl Dobson and Ethan Gao both finished the day 2-over par.
Action resumes at The Prestige tomorrow morning as tee times begin at 6:45 a.m. in the team event and 7:30 a.m. for the individual competition.
