Former University of Missouri men’s golf standout Peter Malnati ’09 claimed his second PGA Tour victory on Sunday, finishing first at the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Malnati carded a final-round 68 to claim the title by two strokes. He finished 12-under over the four-day tournament (66-71-68-67) as he earned his second tour victory during his career and first since the 2015 Sanderson Farms Championship.
A four-year standout with the Tigers from 2005 to 2009, Malnati was a two-time Academic All-American at Mizzou and qualified for the NCAA Championship as an individual during his senior campaign. He placed 21st during the regional round with five of his nine career top-10 finishes during his final season in 2008-09.
