NAPA, Calif. – Senior Brianna Navarrosa led the charge, carrying the Trojans to a first-place finish after the first day at the Chevron Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif.

Navarrosa posted the best outing. She is currently second in the tournament after putting up a 68 (-4) on day one. The senior had a bogey-free round alongside three birdies, giving her one of her best rounds this season. The back nine propelled her, as she was one-under-par on the front side but three-under-par on the back side.

Not far behind was sophomore Catherine Park, who is tied for third at three-under-par. Park had a crazy round with only seven pars, four bogeys, and seven birdies on the day.

The following three players on the squad were more grouped together as junior Amari Avery is tied for 18th, junior Xin (Cindy) Kou is tied for 25th and senior Christine Wang is tied for 35th. Avery was even for the round, while Kou was one-over-par and Wang was two-over-par.

The Women of Troy head into day two, hoping to defend their lead starting at 9:42 a.m. tomorrow at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif.
