No. 9 USC Women's Golf Leads By Nine-Strokes Heading into the Silverado Showdown's Final Day

NAPA, Calif. – Sophomore Catherine Park posted her second-straight round under par as she is tied for the lead after two rounds at the Chevron Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif. 

USC is the lone team that is still under par, as the Trojans have a dominant nine-stroke lead heading into the final day of play. USC is three-under-par after 36 holes, while Arizona is second at six-over-par.

Park continued to have a streak of birdies, with three straight-on holes No. 3-5 and a total of five, alongside three bogeys. Park is now five under par and tied for first alongside Kajsa Arwefjall of San Jose State. 

Junior Amari Avery had the largest change from day one to day two, moving seven spots in the leaderboard to a tie for 11th. Avery posted a one-over-par afternoon. Avery is now +1 for the tournament. Joining her is senior Brianna Navarrosa, who is also tied for 11th at one-over-par. Navarrosa finished her day five-over-par, posting a double-bogey on Hole No. 15. 

Xin (Cindy) Kou is the last counting score for the Trojans, as she is three-over-par after two days of work. Kou was two-over-par today, as she remained in the same place she was after round one. 

Senior Christine Wang is the final USC competitor, as she is tied for 31st. Wang shot back-to-back 74s, as she is now four-over-par for the tournament. 

The Women of Troy head into day three with a dominant lead. They tee off tomorrow in Napa, California, at 8:30 a.m.
