Siehl ties for sixth after first day of Big Ten Championship


HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. – After 18 holes at the 2024 Big Ten Championship, the Wisconsin women’s golf team is in sixth place at seven-over par. 

Alexia Siehl leads the Badgers at one-under par, placing her tied for sixth. Michigan State currently paces the conference at nine-under par, while Northwestern follows at one-under par. 

Friday, April 19

Round 1

The Badgers started off the championship shooting a 295 (+7), placing them in sixth out of 14 teams. 

Siehl paced the Wisconsin golfers in the first round, finishing the day tied for sixth at one-under par. The sophomore tallied an eagle and two birdies in the opening round of her second Big Ten Championship. 

Juniors Chloe Chan and Carly Carter each shot a two-over 74, placing them tied for 25th. Chan joined Siehl by also grabbing an eagle in the round. 

Vanessa Ho carded a four-over 76 to tie for 44th, while Kate Brody shot a five-over 77, placing her tied for 52nd. Freshman Ava Salay rounded out the lineup with a 12-over 84 (T80).
