Terps Earn NCAA Regionals Bid to Texas

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Maryland women’s golf team earned its second straight NCAA Regionals bid as a team Wednesday, earning the No. 7 seed in the Bryan Regional. The Terrapins will compete in NCAA Regionals May 6-8 at Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas.

This is the Terps’ second straight NCAA Regionals bid as a team under third-year head coach Kelly Hovland

In regional play, six 54-hole regional competitions will be played to determine the participants in the championship finals. In each regional, 12 teams and six individuals not on those teams will compete. The low five teams and the individual not on those teams will advance to the finals. Beginning in 2024, regional champion awards will be given to the team champions. For more on NCAA Regionals, click here

Last year, the Terrapins finished seventh of 12 teams at the Athens Regional hosted by University of Georgia.

Maryland has competed in the last six NCAA postseason events, dating back to 2018. Senior Patricie Mackova competed as an individual in 2022 in Albuquerque, N.M.

As a team this season, Maryland has five top five finishes. Both Mackova and sophomore Nicha Kanpai won individual titles.
