Sebastian Munoz What’s In The Bag?

Born in Bogota, Colombia, Sebastian Munoz turned pro in 2015 after having played four years of collegiate golf at the University of North Texas. From there he has worked his way up the golfing ladder culminating in a PGA Tour victory at the 2019 Sanderson Farms Championship. Here we have taken a look at the clubs he uses out on Tour.

Aside from a TaylorMade fairway wood, Munoz uses a full bag of Ping clubs at the moment. His driver is a Ping G425 Max driver (opens in new tab) with 9 degrees of loft. One huge difference between the G425 and the G410 was that Ping implemented a new 26-gram tungsten movable weight called a CG Shifter. This was made possible by weight savings from advancements in the driver’s dragonfly crown design. The weight can be secured in one of three settings – neutral, draw or fade – to influence forgiveness and shot shape. The average MOI increase is 14 per cent across the three weight positions compared to the G410 Plus.

Munoz then decides to put a TaylorMade SIM Ti three-wood in the bag and it has been in the bag for a number of years. This seems to add up because we have seen a lot of top players using older models of fairway wood because it is the hardest slot in the bag to get right. As such once a player finds a model they like and trust, it takes a lot for them to change. He also carries a Ping G425 Max seven-wood as well.

Irons

His long irons often change dependent on course, conditions and other factors. For example his Ping G410 Crossover goes in and out of the bag before transitioning down to a Ping i200 three-iron. He then has Ping i210’s from four-iron down to nine-iron and a recent addition to the setup is a Ping iBlade pitching wedge.
