Lewis Awarded SEC Golfer of the Week

For the second consecutive week, a Vol has been named SEC Golfer of the Week—this time redshirt junior Bryce Lewis.

In addition to aiding in Tennessee’s second straight team tournament title, Lewis captured the event’s individual title—shooting 8-under and winning the tournament by four full strokes. Lewis made 19 total birdies over the course of the tournament’s three rounds.

The win stood as the second of Lewis’ collegiate career—joining the 2021 Country Club of Birmingham Invitational, after which he also won SEC Golfer of the Week (April 8, 2021). It also marks the sixth time a Vol has won an individual title under Webb’s direction. Lewis is the first Vol to win multiple individual titles since Webb arrived on Rocky Top.

Three tournaments into the season, Lewis has posted a 69.22 stroke average and has carded six rounds of par or better.

Lewis is the Vols’ second SEC Golfer of the Week after freshman Caleb Surratt won the award last week.
