Women’s Golf Returns to Action at Florida


The Missouri women’s golf is back in action for the first time in more than two months, competing at the Paradise Invitational, hosted by Florida Atlantic.

TOURNAMENT INFO

The tournament is slated for Monday and Tuesday with the schools opening the action on Monday morning with a 7 a.m. CT shotgun start. The teams are slated to play 36 holes on Monday before wrapping up the tournament with 18 holes on Tuesday.

Joining the Tigers at the tournament are the host Owls, BYU, Colorado State, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Kansas State, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Nebraska, USF, UTSA, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.

The tournament will be held at Osprey Point Golf Club and be held on the Raven and Falcon courses, measuring 6,204 yards on a par-72 course.

FALL RECAP

The Tigers competed in four tournaments during the fall season, claiming the title at their home tournament, the Johnie Imes Invitational. Mizzou also placed in the top 10 at The Ally.

Graduate student led Mizzou with a 74.08 stroke average during 12 fall rounds, while junior Emily Staples was right behind at 74.25. Staples also had the top individual finish by a Tiger by placing third at their home tournament, while also finishing ninth at the Battle of the Beach to wrap up the fall campaign.

Additionally, Melanie Walker finished as the team’s top finisher at The Ally, while Sophia Yoemans placed first on the team at the Jim West Challenge.

WELCOME KATE BIBBY

The Tigers added Kate Bibby to the roster for the Spring semester. A freshman, Bibby became the youngest golfer to qualify for the English Amateur Match Play Championship, placing 17th. She also won the Doral title in 2020 at the age of 16.
