Harris Named SEC Golfer of the Week – University of South Carolina Athletics

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Redshirt sophomore transfer Frankie Harris earned SEC Golfer of the Week honors the league office announced on Wednesday. The transfer from Auburn is fresh off his first career victory at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate (Oct. 29-31).

Harris shot 209 (-7) with consecutive rounds under par. He poured in 11 birdies and made just four bogeys over the course of 54 holes.

It’s the second top-20 for the Boca Raton, Fla., native who has led the team in all four fall events including a dominate 5&4 match win over Kentucky’s Jansen Preston at the SEC Fall Preview.

Harris leads the team with a 71.36 scoring average in his four stroke play starts this fall.

The Gamecocks are off until February when the team will open the spring at the Puerto Rico Classic for the third consecutive season.
